Our 2009 1%

Our 2009 1% for the Planet donations are in the books. In the past year we were fortunate enough to be able to donate to Surfrider Foundation, Outward Bound, Futafriends, League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, World Wildlife Fund, Santa Monica BayKeeper, Heal the Bay, Natural Resources Defense Council, Natural Resources Council of Maine, and Grist Magazine.

2010 Academy Awards

Sony Pictures Classics cleaned up at the Academy Award nominations this morning. Eight of their films were nominated for a total of thirteen awards. We were lucky enough to work on (or be working on) sites for six of them; AN EDUCATION (Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay), THE LAST STATION (Best Actress and Supporting Actor), A PROPHET and THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES (Best Foreign Language Film), COCO BEFORE CHANEL (Best Costume Design) and PARIS 36 (Best Original Song).

AN EDUCATION in the news

Sony Pictures Classics’ AN EDUCATION is raking in the nominations and awards. Carey Mulligan has been nominated for a Best Actress Golden Globe, and AN EDUCATION itself has been popping up on a number of critics’ “Ten Best of ‘09″ lists. The Last Station in the news

We have a splash page up for Sony Pictures Classics’ THE LAST STATION. Look for the full site to launch by Christmas. The film is garnering a lot of critical acclaim, including Golden Globe nominations for Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer.

2009 W3 Awards

Mixed Media Workshop has won silver at the 2009 W3 Awards for the site we created for FROZEN RIVER, a Sony Pictures Classics release. Not that we’re counting, but now that makes seven total W3 Awards of the Silver, Gold, and Best-in-Show variety.

Thanks to Karen Yung for her work on the site as well as (of course) Sony Pictures Classics.
