2011 Davey Awards

Mixed Media Workshop’s website for the Sony Pictures Classics’ release MIDNIGHT IN PARIS has won Silver at this year’s Davey Awards. Big thanks to Karen Yung for her work on the site, and to SPC for bringing us in on the project!

About the Davey Awards

The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small firms worldwide. The 2010 Davey Awards received over 4,000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms.

David defeated the mighty Goliath with a big idea and a little rock. That is the sort of thing small firms do every day. The Davey Awards honors the achievement of the “Creative David’s” where strength comes from ideas, intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking, not a “Giant’s” bankroll. 2011 W3 Awards

The W3 Award winners for 2011 have been announced. Winning Silver were our websites for Woody Allen’s MIDNIGHT IN PARIS and Emilio Estevez’s THE WAY. In the six years that Mixed Media Workshop has entered we’ve how taken home thirteen W3 Awards of the Silver, Gold, and Best-in-Show variety.

Big thanks to Karen Yung for her work on MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, and Sony Classics for the project. For THE WAY a thank you to Brent and Teresa at mimoYmima for their heavy lifting, and Elixir Films for bringing us on.

MMW Goings On

We’ve been busy with a number of projects, including the development of our first very own mobile app! In the short and long term works are sites for the upcoming films A DANGEROUS METHOD (David Cronenberg), TAKE SHELTER and A SEPARATION, the Golden Bear winner at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. Just launched is a site for the Vera Farmiga film HIGHER GROUND. Look for TAKE SHELTER in early September, with the other sites going live as Fall rolls along.

As for that app…we’re excited, but not quite ready to share. Look for more news on this front in the early Fall.

Among other things we’re currently working on a site for the new Woody Allen film, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. Very exciting! Look for a launch right around the end of April, 2011.

iPhone & iPad Developer Wanted

We’re looking for an iPhone/iPad developer to help us bring a few ideas to life. The ideal candidate will also have a background in design and experience with the App store. The ability to develop for Android is a plus, but not a requirement.
