Mixed Media Workshop went three-for-three at the Davey Awards, which celebrate “Small Firms, Big Ideas.” Winning Gold Awards were our sites for Sony Pictures Classics’ AN EDUCATION and THE LAST STATION. Our site for Ethan Higbee and Adam Bhala-Lough’s THE UPSETTER took home a Silver Award. Big thanks to Karen Yung for her work on each of these sites, and to SPC, Ethan and Adam for the work!

The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small firms worldwide. Sony Pictures Classics cleaned up at the Academy Award nominations this morning. Eight of their films were nominated for a total of thirteen awards. We were lucky enough to work on (or be working on) sites for six of them; AN EDUCATION (Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay), THE LAST STATION (Best Actress and Supporting Actor), A PROPHET and THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES (Best Foreign Language Film), COCO BEFORE CHANEL (Best Costume Design) and PARIS 36 (Best Original Song).

Sony Pictures Classics’ AN EDUCATION is raking in the nominations and awards. Carey Mulligan has been nominated for a Best Actress Golden Globe, and AN EDUCATION itself has been popping up on a number of critics’ “Ten Best of ’09″ lists.
