REUNION @ Festival Sayulita

Our short film, REUNION, screened at Festival Sayulita in January. It was an incredible experience. The festival was a lot of fun and featured some great films. We are very excited to announce that REUNION will be screening at the 2013 Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival. The 28th annual FLIFF will run October 18th through November 11th, 2013. More details as we have them!

And that’s a wrap on REUNION, the short film by Mixed Media Workshop’s Ben Kopke and Caddie Hastings. After two days of filming in Mexico and two in Los Angeles the movie now heads to the editing room. The production process was a dream, and we can’t wait to share the finished movie.

REUNION: The Kickstarter Campaign

We are producing and directing our first short film later this year titled REUNION. We’re pretty excited! The costs to produce the film are fairly substantial, however. In order to fund REUNION we’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign. We’re going to need all the help we can get – both in terms of donations and, just as importantly, spreading the word. Kickstarter is all-or-nothing. If we miss our goal by even a dollar we go unfunded. With that in mind, we’d greatly appreciate any help you can give in getting REUNION made. Casting Notice

Mixed Media Workshop is casting “Reunion,” a digital short.

Shoots three weekends in the late fall and early winter in SoCal.

Seeking
Him: 30s to play early 20s-early 30s, corporate now, formerly a writer, traveler, engaged once, but hasn’t settled down.
Her: early 30s to play early 20s-early 30s, divorced mother of a young child, adventurous and warm.

Auditions will be held by appt. only late September-early October in Culver City.

MMW :: On the Horizon

Quite a bit going on here at Mixed Media Workshop. Perhaps the biggest news is our plan to shoot and produce a short film in the Fall/Winter of 2012-13. Directed by MMW’s co-Founders, Ben Kopke and Caddie Hastings, REUNION was written by David Mahony (based on a story by Ben Kopke and David Mahony.) We are hoping to fund this project through Kickstarter, with that campaign launching mid/late September.

In addition to REUNION, Mixed Media Workshop is working on a few websites; a film site for Jacques Audiard’s RUST AND BONE (starring Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoe), as well as a corporate site for KLR Global Search.

This is looking to be a busy fall here at MMW. Much more to announce on all fronts soon, and we hope you can join us in spreading the word on REUNION‘s Kickstarter campaign when the time comes.
